Fearless Reason

Fearless reason in an age of frightened absurdity.

All is New

All is new
All is old

I am becoming
I am dying

I remember
I forget

I awaken
I sleep

I am
I am not.

A More Beautiful Way

Though
eyes perceive
only
decay.

The heart
remembers
a more beautiful
way.

The body
knows what
the mind
cannot grasp.

That possibilities
exist outside
of cause
and effect.

What came
before
need not
come again.

When love
is the way
god takes care
of the rest.

Divergent Lives

Remember
when our differences
were theoretical?

The abstractions
of politics
religion
and god.

Insignificant
compared to
the sameness
of our daily
lives.

We thought
differently
but acted
similarly.

Which made
the differences
less real.

Divergent lives
shaped by
theoretical
divides.

Have changed
our daily
routines.

Giving reality
to the theoretical
abstractions
of youth.

It is harder now
that our differences
are real.

But my religion
is love
my politics
cooperation
my god
the creation.

To hate you
would be heresy
to hurt you
would be anarchy
to reject you
would be impossible.

It is harder now
but I love you still.

Monuments Built to Ego

All bodies know
they are subject
to  decay.

Yet identity
seeks existence
beyond death.

Endowing
more durable forms
with a sense of self.

Defeating briefly
time’s inevitable
decay.

Monuments
built to ego
scar the land.

Polluting
the water
soil and
air.

Despoiling life
to sustain
life’s illusion.

All beings die
but all identities
fear death.

Remember me
they cry
throughout time.

Remember
the I that was
but can no longer be.
