Fearless Reason

Fearless reason in an age of frightened absurdity.

Renunciation Beckons

Renunciation
beckons the
inward turning
of my soul.

Gathering
time and attention
scattered and
stolen by men.

That both
may once more
be turned
godward.

I have labored
too long
in the kingdom
of men.

Served
in too many
futile
crusades.

I want
no glory
they may
bestow.

No wealth
nor power
that I may
claim.

I seek only
union with god
and the kingdom
within.

Seek God Within

It is sad to see the spiritual ambition of seekers without a contemplative practice turn to heresy. It is only by our regular pilgrimage to the well of faith that we cultivate discernment, and purify our hearts and minds. Those who forego this sacrament inevitably get lost in the false corridors of the analytical mind, and worship the false gods of their ego. Forsake heresy and seek union with god through inner silence.

Unbend your neck.
Get off your knees.
Sit upright with poise.
Seek god within.

Stars Wearing Anomalies

Stars
wearing
anomalies.

We shine
forth
infinite
possibilities.

Transcending
man made
mediocrity.

We emit
god made
luminosity.

Gods
wearing
bodies.

We are
lights
bearing
the dawn.

Revelation

Love is patient
love is kind
it does not envy
it does not boast
it is not proud.

It does not
dishonor others
it is not self-seeking
it is not easily angered
it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love
thy neighbor
as thy self.

Love
thy enemies
and pray
for those who
prosecute you.

The time
of prophecies
has come
when love
has ceased.

Where those
with tongues
have been
stilled.

Where those
with knowledge
have passed
away.

False Christs
and false prophets
have arisen.

And the man
of lawlessness
is revealed.

The son
of destruction
who opposes
and exalts himself
above every so-called
god or object of worship.

And through
his shrewdness
he will cause deceit
to succeed
by his influence.

And will
magnify himself
in his heart
and will destroy many
while they are at ease.

So that he
takes his seat
in the temple of God
displaying himself
as being God.

He will pitch the tents
of his royal pavilion
between the seas
and beautiful
holy mountain.

Yet he
will come
to his end
and no one
will help him.

The Empty Field

Cultivate
the empty field
of awareness.

Remove
the weed
of fixed ideals.

Concerning what is
has been
or should be.

Ward against
the pestilence
of a chattering mind.

That great
despoiler
of fields.

Crush
the stones
of resistance.

To the
present
moment.

Grow
god and
goodness.

In the
empty
field.

Harvest
with presence
a bounty of virtue.

In Silence

In silent
surrender
I purify
my soul.

In silence.

I cleanse
my mind
and open
my heart.

Finding myself.

Formless
creature
of the
now.

In silence.

I grow
virtue
and god.

Finding myself.

Timeless
creature
of love
and bliss.

In silence.

I vanquish
darkness
with the
presence of
light.

Finding myself.

Awareness
in an
awakening
world.

Beware the Idolatry of Faith

Beware
the idolatry
of faith.

Make
not an
idol of
your beliefs
dogmas
and identities.

Let
faith
bring you
closer
to god.

But never
estrange you
from your
fellow beings.

Make
not a
golden calf
of your
golden cross.

Let
faith
bring you
closer
to the
infinite.

But
never
make you
small
and finite.

Love every
sinner
but hate
every
sin.

Forsake
your idols
for a
living faith
and infinite
god.

Alive
in the
infinite creation.

Living
in the
infinite diversity
of your
fellow beings.

God of My Heart

God
of my
heart.

I join
my purpose
with
thy will.

Make of
my crude
soul
thy divine
flame.

Break open
my calloused
heart
that I
may express
thy
love.

I sacrifice
my selfish
desires
and striving
ego
on the
alter
of thy
grace.

I extinguish
ambition’s
embers
and selfish
longing.

That I
may lose
myself
in thy
infinite
creation.

I forfeit
the I
that
I am.

That I
may
become
fate’s tool.

Instrument
of thy
will.

Bearer
of thy
love.

Sun
of thy
morning.

Servant
of thy
infinite
creation.

Accidental Saint

Accidental Saint.

I lost myself.
I lost my mind.

I lost my past.
I lost my future.

I lost my pain.
I lost my hate.

I got drunk on being.

I discovered god,
I gained eternity,
I found bliss.

I have peace.
I have joy.
I have love.

I whisper prayers, and silent blessings.

May all beings know peace.
May all beings have joy
May all beings find love.

May all beings awaken.

Crucified

Perhaps another meaning of the crucifix is that each of us does not merely bear a cross, but that each of us is crucified in the process of living. Life is suffering, and if it has a purpose, perhaps it is to release our own indwelling Christ consciousness. The only constant of life is the impermanence of form. All happiness fades, just as all sorrow comes to pass. Our suffering causes us to have more compassion for those who suffer. Our losses, as inevitable as they are senseless, force us to search for the constant within.
