I Must Forsake Walls
by Zachary Adama
I have
too many rooms
needing
filled.
Too many
empty spaces
barren walls and
looming ceilings.
All yearning
for a bigger
life than I
care to live.
I wanted
space to be
to breathe
to be free.
But spaces
bound by walls
are too expansive
or small.
Judgmentally
barren
or stiflingly
filled.
I wanted space
but for freedom
I must forsake
walls.
